Falling For Romance; An Interview with Debut Author Regina Brownell
1) What is your Author name; use your Pen name if you have one.
Regina Brownell
2) What is your genre and what drew you to it?
I write in the Romance genre. It all started with a Twister fan fiction when I was ten years old. It was about how the two main characters in the movie falling in love in Elementary School. I feel like I have almost always been invested in the love story of a movie and I think that’s kind of what sparked my love for the genre. It wasn’t until my mid to late twenties that I started to read for fun and discovered that I loved Romance books just as much as much as I love romantic movies.
3) What is the hardest challenge in being a writer?
Not falling victim to imposter syndrome. I know a lot of writers can relate to that and some days you look at your work and don’t feel that confidence that you should. Then there are other days where you look at something like, oh – I just wrote that? That’s pretty good.
4) What is your favorite part about being a writer?
Immersing myself in these worlds that I create. I’m a pantser so when I write it’s like I’m reading the book for the first time too, and I love that about the process.
5) What is your favorite character from any book you have ever read?
That is a really hard question, but if I had to chose one character it would probably be Stella from The Kiss Quotient. I loved her strength and how she over came so much throughout the book.
6) Where is your favorite place to read?
Since I don’t have a cute little reading nook, I’d have to say reading in bed. I love getting comfortable and reading before I fall asleep.
7) Which book villain would be the hardest to defeat?
Amarantha from ACOTAR, because all those trials that she put Feyre through, I never would have survived that.
8) Name one book that you have reread several times.
In my early twenties I had a HUGE Twilight phase. I don’t even remember how many times I read those books, but it was a lot.
9) If you had to write in any other genre, what would that be and why?
Paranormal Romance. I’ve written a few short stories but would love to write a full Paranormal. I guess maybe because the first book I really fell in love with was Twilight. I love the whole Vampire Werewolf genre. I guess I’m just waiting for the perfect idea before I write one.
10) If you could live in any “book world” what would that be?
Honestly, take me to Forks. I’d love to visit the Pacific Northwest and all the Twilight locations. I think I’ll always love the world of Twilight no matter how old I get.
11) What is your best book memory?
It’s a tie between all the midnight Twilight events and dressing up like the characters and when I met P.C and Kristin Cast who wrote The House of Night books.
12) What is the name of your book/series? Tell me a little bit about them.
My debut is titled The Two Week Promise.
It’s a rom com about a twenty-four-year-old woman named Ellie. She has always had a crush on her best friend Charlotte’s brother, Logan. Logan returns home for Charlotte’s wedding and after years of pent-up sexual tension and them secretly crushing on each other Ellie wakes up the day after Charlotte’s wedding in bed with Logan. He ends up asking her to pursue a two week, no strings attached relationship with him while Charlotte is on her honeymoon. She agrees to it. They spend the two weeks in a sexual whirlwind all while renovating Charlotte and her new husband’s bedroom to surprise Charlotte when she gets back. Tensions run high and, in the end, Ellie must decide whether to come clean about her feelings for Logan and tell her best friend about her and Logan’s arrangement. Not only is her heart on the line, but her friendship too.

15) If there anything important that you would want my readers to know about you?
I’m married and I’m a mom of 3. I also have 3 fur babies too. I live in New York. I have a second book coming out in November. It’s a Christmas Romance called One Lucky Christmas. There is also one more slated for next spring, but not sure which title it will be yet.
